Pedro Neto Double Seals Huge Away Win - Everton 0-2 Chelsea Match Report

Neto double sends Chelsea home happy from Everton
Everton 0–2 Chelsea | Premier League
Saturday 17 October 2026 • 12.30pm BST
Hill Dickinson Stadium • Half-time 0–0

Pedro Neto celebrates on an afternoon decided by his two goals.
Three points away at Everton and a clean sheet. We have waited long enough to enjoy saying that. Pedro Neto scored twice after the break to give Chelsea a 2–0 win, and there was plenty for the travelling Blues to love about the way we earned it.
After last season’s miserable visit here, this felt good. Xabi Alonso’s side ended Everton’s unbeaten league start and made it back-to-back league wins. Just as welcome was finally getting through a Premier League match without conceding, ending a run of 22 games without a shutout.
Everton made us work for it. Emiliano Martinez dealt with efforts from Merlin Rohl, Thierno Barry and Jack Grealish as a scrappy first half threatened to become more about the confrontations than the football.
We had our chances too. Moises Caicedo caught a volley beautifully, only to see it thunder against the bar. Maxence Lacroix then had a header cleared off the line by Harrison Armstrong. By half-time, there was every reason to believe the breakthrough would come.
Neto makes the difference
It took just 43 seconds after the restart. Morgan Rogers released Jorrel Hato with a lovely backheel, Hato drove down the left and his delivery found Neto. The finish was calm, and suddenly we had something to protect.
The worrying moment came when Martinez was injured in a collision while dealing with a free-kick. After lengthy treatment, Mike Penders came on for his Premier League debut. Our thoughts are with Martinez, and we hope he recovers quickly.
To the team’s credit, we stayed focused. Joao Pedro was denied by Jordan Pickford on the counter before Neto gave us the breathing room we needed in the 90th minute. Henderson’s free-kick hit the wall, the loose ball fell to Neto and he waited for his opening before finding the corner.
Even with 11 minutes added on, we saw it through. Neto gets our man of the match, but keeping Everton out mattered too. We have had enough afternoons watching a lead disappear. This time, Chelsea finished the job. Up the Chels!

A fiercely contested afternoon on Merseyside.
